# Hi, I'm Augustyn

I'm a software engineer and Senior Frontend Engineer at [Bejamas](https://bejamas.com/).

## How I got here

### Start: Czestochowa

Level 1 · 2018 - 2022

I was born in Czestochowa, Poland, and studied Computer Science at [Czestochowa University of Technology](https://pcz.pl/en/). I graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering and a C1 English certificate.

### Early junior days

Level 2 · 2021 - 2023

In summer 2021 I built a React Native app with Redux as an intern at [mDevelopers](https://mdevelopers.com/), in a team of four with a senior mentor. From October 2021 I built Gatsby and Next.js websites with headless WordPress and GSAP at [Heyguys](https://heyguys.io/)/[HattenbergerPartner](https://hattenbergerpartner.de/), including content models for German clients. In October 2022 I was promoted to mid developer.

### Joining Bejamas

Level 3 · November 2023

I joined [Bejamas](https://bejamas.com/) as a Frontend Engineer and built production websites with Next.js and headless CMS platforms. In July 2024 I earned the [Sanity Developer Certificate](https://www.sanity.io/learn/profile/gFH4xkZpi).

Tools: Next.js, Astro, Sanity, Storyblok

### A headless shop for NNOXX

Level 4 · 2023 - 2025

I architected the NNOXX online shop in Next.js and Swell. Webhooks connect Swell, Azure Functions and the shipping services, so orders reach fulfilment automatically. Read the [NNOXX case study](https://bejamas.com/work/nnoxx).

### Promoted to senior

Level 5 · September 2025

I was promoted to Senior Frontend Engineer. I support sales with architecture, scope, estimates and technical audits, then lead the project through release and continued delivery. I design multi-brand and multilingual content in Sanity and Storyblok, and I mentor and onboard engineers through code reviews.

### RudderStack redesign

Level 6 · 2025 - 2026

I led the Next.js and Sanity redesign of the RudderStack website and shipped new page templates every week. Code splitting and better bundle chunking made the mobile pages faster. Read the [RudderStack case study](https://bejamas.com/work/rudderstack).

### ECCA conference platform

Level 7 · 2025 - 2026

I built [ECCA's conference platform](/work/ecca-conference-platform) on my own with Next.js and Sanity. Editors create conference pages, preview them and publish changes without a rebuild.

### My own consulting site

Level 8 · 2026 - now

My flagship services are [website audits](/services/website-audit), [website development](/services/website-with-a-headless-cms), [website retainers](/services/website-maintenance-retainer) and an [AI agent chatbot](/services/ai-agent-chatbot-for-your-website).

### Side quest: Off the clock

- Bayern Munich member
- Following WWE for years
- Playing The Witcher 3 and the Grand Theft Auto games
- Watching everything with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May in it
- Watching Formula 1, now and then

## Questions about my work

### For hiring managers

#### How deep is your Sanity experience?

I have worked on enterprise Sanity projects at Bejamas, leading and setting up many of them from the start. I design content models and Studio workflows, then connect them to Next.js or Astro frontends. I have worked with editors across regions and large content sets.

#### What have you built with Storyblok?

I have shipped Storyblok projects with component schemas, multilingual content and frontend preview.

#### Have you led migrations from an existing CMS?

Yes. I have worked on migrations involving headless WordPress, Contentful, Sanity and Storyblok. I map the source content and relationships to the new model, test the migration on a sample, then estimate the full volume and cutover.

#### What does agent-assisted delivery look like in your team?

I use Claude Code and Codex daily for bounded implementation work. I give them project context and acceptance criteria, review their changes in small pull requests, and keep architecture and release decisions with the responsible engineer.

#### How do you check work produced by developers or coding agents?

I review the behavior against the brief, read the code for architectural and security mistakes, and run the relevant tests. For a frontend change I also check the rendered page at real screen sizes. I also check that a visitor can understand and use the change.

#### What leadership experience do you have?

I lead frontend delivery on Next.js and Astro projects, make technical decisions, direct mid-level developers and mentor new engineers. I have led multilingual and regional projects. I also served as an interim engineering manager at Bejamas, including recruitment interviews.

#### What external integrations and performance work have you done?

For the NNOXX shop I connected Swell, Azure Functions and the shipping services through webhooks. I have worked on large Next.js sites where rendering and build time mattered, and I investigate Core Web Vitals by measuring real routes and tracing slow behavior to its cause.
