Questions, answered
What if I do not know which decision I am facing?
Send the symptom - publishing does not update the page, the estimate feels high - and I name the decision underneath it in the reply.
How is the time scoped?
I read the decision first, then reply with a fixed number of hours at 100 USD an hour excl. VAT, with a 300 USD minimum. The minimum buys three hours, for example two hours analysing your problem before a call, 30 minutes working on a proposed solution and a 30-minute call. A pull request is usually a few hours, an architecture review a day or two. Nothing starts before you agree the hours.
Do you make the changes?
Not as part of the advisory hours. Advisory covers written recommendations, code review and mentoring. If you want me to change the code, I write the changes up as a roadmap of tasks, each estimated in hours, and carry them out as you approve them, at 75 USD an hour excl. VAT.
Can you advise on a self-hosted CMS?
Yes. Payload CMS is the open-source CMS I recommend when you want to host it yourself. It is MIT licensed and runs on your own server or cloud account, with the content in a database you control. I review the content model and the hosting setup before you commit.
Can you work with our engineers and architects?
Yes. I can run architecture workshops, write down what must be agreed before each stage, review code written by your developers or coding agents, and mentor your team during delivery.
