How do you price?
I quote a fixed price for work with a defined end, or bill project work for the hours spent. A website retainer reserves a monthly block of engineering hours for ongoing development, maintenance, bug fixes and updates. For consultancy, I agree the hours before starting. The AI chatbot has a setup fee and a monthly maintenance fee.
Do you work alongside my team or agency?
Yes. I review code and decisions with your team, then give them findings or a change list they can use. If I build the site, I hand over a documented repository they can keep working in.
Which stack do you work in?
Next.js and Astro on the front end. Sanity, Storyblok, Payload CMS and Contentful in depth on the CMS side, with Prismic, Hygraph, Builder.io, Tina CMS and WordPress from client projects. When you want an open-source CMS you host yourself, I use Payload CMS.
When are you the wrong person to hire?
When you need a long design process and a bespoke visual identity, or several engineers shipping in parallel against a fixed date. I work at Bejamas day to day and will introduce you there for that kind of scope.
What is your hourly rate?
Project work is 75 USD an hour excl. VAT. That covers the website audit, a website with a headless CMS and an AI chatbot. A long-term commitment, such as a website retainer, is 60 USD an hour excl. VAT. Consultancy is 100 USD an hour excl. VAT, with a 300 USD minimum.
Is there a minimum budget?
The minimum is the starting price on each service page, excl. VAT: 2,000 USD for the website audit or the site rescue, 2,000 USD setup for an AI chatbot, 3,000 USD for a small website with a headless CMS, and 960 USD a month for a website retainer. Consultancy is 100 USD an hour excl. VAT, with a 300 USD minimum.
How long does a website build take?
It depends on the scope. I can give your project up to 20 hours a week. Send me a brief and I will estimate the timeline.
Where are you based, and when do you work?
I work from Katowice, Poland, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 19:00 Central European Time.
